DVF to launch a home line!

In every girl’s closet hangs a Diane von Furstenberg signature wrap dress. And if a closet full of designer clothing isn’t enough - you can have DVF all over your home! The brand already has a ready-to wear, accessories, and luggage line, but the newest addition has us so excited! Diane von Furstenberg is coming out with a home decor collection! It’s about time!

DVF has signed a partnership agreement with textile and home furnishings company Springs Global. The home collection will be available January 2011 at international department stores and of course, on DVF.com. The line includes bedding, bath, tabletop and decorative accessories.

Not to worry – your home will not be decorated in DVF’s signature wrap dresses – the products are inspired by nature and contemporary art as well as the designer’s vintage and current fashion prints. There’s nothing this fashion icon can’t do!

If you absolutely can’t wait to get your DVF home furnishings – another designer has branched out into the home décor. Vivienne Westwood has teamed up with British company Cole & Son for a collection of wallpapers – which is already available in the UK and coming to the US very very soon!

NESTING NEWBIES

Although the interiors of your home may be finished and your rooms are all neatly organized, the next step is to actually run your household! Nesting Newbies is a Digital Shelter Magazine that features quarterly digital shelter magazine, online cooking segments, and informational blogs aimed at showing those who are new to nesting how to cook, entertain, and decorate.

Jodi Murphy and Lea McIntosh started Nesting Newbies after combining their individual passions for design and cooking. With great relationships with photographers, foodies, stylists, and interior designers after working in the magazine industry, the idea was an instant success!

For those twenty-somethings and thirty-somethings who are insecure about running a household…Nesting Newbies is for you! Nesting Newbies covers everything you need to know: how to recreate a table setting, how to makeover your home, and even the cooking basics that you may be unfamiliar with! There are special cooking online episodes hosted by their Nesting Newbies chef, Lea McIntosh. They’ll post recipes from the episodes on their blog afterwards. As the magazine grows, expect guest celebrity chefs to help out Lea in the kitchen!

Jodi has been working with and writing about luxury design for a decade and loves to share with her readers how designers transform their clients homes to positively influence their lives. In Nesting Newbies, they strive to share ways to transform a space by taking inspiration from high-end spaces and creating your own practice and budget-conscious version.

In the Winter issue, they launched their Bluebird Bag contest. It’s a swag bag of great items and there’s still time to enter to win until March 16!
Be sure to check out the Spring issue that will have a new feature called “Nestimonials” where they interview design bloggers and get their points of view on a variety of topics. So check out their website at www.nestingnewbies.com and become a fan on facebook!
