11 Spring Street

New York City is full of extraordinary spaces including some of the most amazing real estate. Some old, some new and some remodeled with the utmost precision, eye and care using the best of the best including Clos-ette!!
One such project is nestled on a sunny corner of the chicest, bohemian downtown hoods, but close enough to Soho to keep it super sophisticated and accessible to luxury. This project is 11 Spring Street aka the former Candle building which Caroline Cummings has transformed into three apartments- one the flat, one the townhouse and one the penthouse.
The history of this 19th-century brick building that was once a former stable and carriage house and of its architecture is what first caught the attention Caroline Cummings the young developer/designer who has spent the last three years remodeling these spaces to make it an extraordinary living space. Please visit www.11springst.com
To see the layout of the three unique residences. Amenities include private access, rift and quartered teak plank flooring, white oak entry doors, over sized walk-in closets (which can be finished by Clos-ette upon request), programmable radiant flooring in the master baths, state of the art security monitoring system, polished chrome lever hardware, with chrome entry levers and Miele washer/dryer units, Bulthaup kitchens and Duravit outfitted bathrooms!
Interior Photos to come!!

1stdibs.com is my absolute favorite online source for furniture dealers but also growing as a favorite place to window shop for estate jewelry!!

So collectors of all sorts are hailing 1stdibs.com their fav!!!

Founder Michael Bruno parlayed his success as a luxury real estate broker into creating the world's premier marketplace for 20th century design and antiques.

Today there are over 50,000 pieces available on 1stdibs.com that can be searched by location and purchased directly from the dealer.

The selection features the premier dealers around the US including: Atlanta, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco The Berkshires, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, Boston, Houston, Dallas, Paris and London (just to name a few)!

Celerie Kemble: To Your Taste

Celerie Kemble has developed quite a fervent (and well deserved) following!

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Celerie for almost two decades and I can safely say that she is the real deal, the quintessential tastemaker, someone who thinks so outside the box that the trends she sets the rest of the design world attempts to catch up to…

If you have not had the privilege of meeting Celerie or seeing her work then I strongly recommend picking up her book in which she shares her unique background, inspiration and design philosophy allowing entrée into a world usually reserved for those in the industry. The stunning photography alone is a page-turner but this veritable tomb of interior design breaks down how to

· Translate a childhood room into a room for today

· Integrate family heirlooms into an existing room/aesthetic

· Frame and place photographs in a coherent manner

· Make a house or apartment a home using off-the-track sources, catalogs and websites

Lovely Lavender and all it's Wonderful Uses!!!

Lovely lavender and all its wonderful uses (in your closet of course)!!

Lavender is one of those wonderful things found in nature that has so many uses. 1. A natural antiseptic
2. A bug repellent (who knew?)
3. A fragrance
just to name a few

So how can lavender work for you in your closet?

Loving lavender # 1 – a natural antiseptic
1 part lavender linen water
2 parts distilled water
Combine in your steamer and refresh your clothes, steam out odors and help save your clothes from harsh dry cleaning chemical (while putting a little more green in your wallet)
And please if you have to dry clean, use an organic dry cleaner (Thank you!!)

Loving lavender #2 – a bug repellent
—Yes as a bug repellent, use lavender sweater folds in between your sweaters to keep the bugs away!! Or sachets in your sock drawer!

Loving lavender #3
And finally as a fragrance! Lavender candles aside, all of the above uses grant you the gorgeous, soothing and calming scent of lavender!

And now for Clos-ette’s New Year's resolutions, once a week I promise to...
1. Give you a useful tip once a week
2. Show you something I like
3. Guide you through my favorite on and offline destinations for fashion, real estate, design and of course organization!

Stay tuned and in the meantime, Clos-ette wants to know what you’ve promised to do in 2009 !!!
